Mel grew up in Nova Scotia and moved to BC 15 years ago. Since then, she has dedicated her time to pursuing mountain guiding certifications. Currently Mel divides her time with Squamish Rock Guides between rock climbing instruction and office duties. With a calm and friendly demeanor, Mel excels at helping those new to the sport feel relaxed and safe.

When not working with SRG, Mel can be found swinging around on Squamish crack classics, gallivanting around in the alpine, or terrorizing cliffs of Indian Creek, Red Rocks, and Joshua Tree. In the winters Mel works primarily as a heliski guide to give her body a reprieve from the summer’s activities.
