Brian Shannon
ACMG Rock Guide
Brian’s focus is climbing, whether rock, alpine, or ice. With a background in coaching bouldering, lead climbing, and speed climbing, as well as judging for Sport Climb BC competitions, Brian is well rounded and dedicated to encouraging personal growth in others. He especially loves encouraging and facilitating gym climbers toward making the transition to rock climbing, and offers clear instruction, tips and lessons, to beginners and seasoned climbers alike. Brian is carefree with a reassuring attitude, while always focusing on safety. He also has a bachelor’s degree with honours in English, and worked as research assistant in the English department at Simon Fraser University, focusing on eighteenth-century literature and media.
