Terry Lui
ACMG Apprentice Rock Guide
Terry began climbing over 15 years ago and like many, he started in the local climbing gym but was eventually drawn to the world of rock where his passions for teaching and the outdoors come together.
His style of guiding takes an educational approach, focused on enabling his students as they develop a greater appreciation for rock climbing. Terry’s favourite part of the day is seeing his clients grasp new skills giving them more confidence and independence. He is a clear, practical, and enthusiastic educator who enjoys working with people from all walks of life.
Before becoming a guide, Terry had a corporate career in real estate development until his values changed and his compass pointed him to Outdoor Education. He now spends 100+ days per year in the field pursuing climbing and outdoor adventures that expand from Western North America to the Swedish Arctic Circle.
When he’s not climbing, Terry can be found trail running or spending time with his wife and a hot bowl of ramen.
