Registration Information
Program reservations are not complete until payment has been received, either by cheque, or credit card. Once we have received your payment and registration, a detailed information package will be sent out regarding the meeting time and place, what to bring and a sample agenda for your program. We recommend you register at least 30 days in advance as courses are filled on a first-to-pay basis. If a course is already full when your application is received, you may select an alternate date.
Booking Conditions
All participants will be required to read, understand and sign a waiver of liability. Those under the age of 19 years must have a parent or legal guardian co-sign their waiver. All medical information must be declared prior to the course start. All pre scheduled courses require a minimum of two participants to run. The participation of any person in any program is continually subject to the discretion of Squamish Rock Guides Ltd.
Cancellation Policies
A non-refundable deposit of 10% will be required to reserve space on any program. The full cost of the program will be forfeited for cancellations received within seven (7) days of the scheduled program date.
Prescheduled Course Policies
In the event of extreme weather conditions that are likely to affect the ability of the guide to run a pre scheduled weekend course, Squamish Rock Guides will contact participants the day before the scheduled program to discuss postponement options. If a participant is unable to postpone to a later date and SRG is cancelling the course, the participant will receive a full refund.
There will be no cancellations morning of the course. With multiple participants, it is logistically difficult to coordinate postponements on the telephone early in the morning on the day of the course. Participants are therefore expected to meet their group at the course meeting location to discuss options with the guide. It is important to note that there are a number of venues in Squamish that stay dry in light rain and allow instruction of many climbing skills. However, very wet conditions can cause a few of our programs to be cancelled at the discretion of the guide.
Weather Inquiries
If participants have concerns about the weather on the weekend of their scheduled program, they are encouraged to contact the office during business hours (8:00am to 10:00pm – PST) the day before the course. Since other participants may be affected by weather postponements, it’s important to have plenty of time to contact people to discuss options. Messages will not be returned outside of business hours.
Private Program Policies
There is much more flexibility for weather postponements and cancellations with our Private Guiding and Private Instruction programs. All registrants in the private programs will be provided with contact information for their guide so that weather concerns and last minute postponements may be discussed in the event of extreme weather.
