Phil Binnema

ACMG Rock Guide

When Phil was just 20, he attended Thompson Rivers University and completed the Adventure Guide diploma, which jump started his career as a guide. Squamish has been his home since 2013 and he has been a member of the Squamish Rock Guide’s staff for 2 years. Phil’s greatest attribute is his never-ending enthusiasm, and dedication to his passions. He has traveled all over the world to climb in some of the most popular and remote climbing areas, however, his greatest climbing memory is guiding his father and brother up the Stawamus Chief. Phil is also an accomplished musician and can often be heard singing a tune between words of encouragement on multi-pitch climbs.
