Bridget MacMurray
ACMG Rock Guide
Originally from New Zealand, Bridget began her climbing journey while studying at university in Dunedin. She spent her free time exploring the sea cliffs of Long Beach and Māpoutahi, where reaching the routes often meant dodging sunbathing sea lions and brushing sand off crucial holds mid-climb.
In 2017, she came to Canada to chase the famed Canadian powder. After the ski season, a spring road trip led her to Squamish, where she discovered crack climbing on granite for the first time. It was a steep learning curve—jamming toes and fingers into cracks was a far cry from seaside sport climbing—but before long, she embraced the pain, and crack climbing became her favorite style
